Helping Students Prepare for Presentations

Presentations can be a daunting, but necessary, task for students who are learning English for work purposes, for academic study and even for the IELTS speaking paper. In this session we will discuss how to help students overcome their fears and develop the necessary skills to deliver successful presentations. Topics covered will include helping students to brainstorm content and then organize it, working on functional language and other language features specific to presentations, and practicing delivery techniques. Participants will leave with practical ideas and activities to implement in their own classrooms to help their students become confident and effective presenters.
